Joint Business Spotlight with Rep. Gabler

SGL Carbon LLC, St. Marys Pharmacy win 2008 Business of the Year Honors

SGL Carbon LLC and St. Marys Pharmacy were given the 2008 Large and Small Business of the Year honors at SMACC's Annual Dinner, held March 7. Runner-up for Large Business of the Year was Northwest Savings Bank, and Village Peddler Country Store was Small Business of the Year Runner-up.

The 2008 Holiday House Tour, held on Sunday, December 7, highlighted some of St. Marys' loveliest homes and buildings decked out in their holiday best!

8th Annual Chamber Golf Outing held at Bavarian Hills

The 8th Annual St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing, sponsored by WalMart, was held on a picture-perfect, fall day on Wednesday, September 24th at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course with 60 golfers participating.

Taking 1st Place with a low net score of 54 was the Elk Haven team of Tom Davido, Sonny Eckert, George Saline and Jeff Stenta (pictured below)


2nd Place finishers, with a 55 were Northwest Savings Team #2 consisting of Mary Maloney, Linda Decker, Tom Jesberger and Russ Daniels. (pictured below)

Coming in 3rd, with a 57 on a match of cards, was Northwest Savings Team #1, Larry Schatz, Tim Smith, Scott Dahl and Neil Hoffman. (pictured below)


Skill prizes were awarded to: Tim Smith for Closest to the Pin on #6, Mary Secco for Longest Drive (Ladies) on #11, George Saline for Longest Drive (Men) on #5, Mary Secco for Longest Drive on #14 and Steve Kronenwetter for the Longest Putt on #17 (second year).

After an afternoon of great golf, cold refreshments and near perfect weather, the golfers were treated to a delicious steak dinner by the Bavarian Hills staff and some wonderful prizes compliments of the St. Marys Chamber and numerous business sponsors. The Hole-In-One Prizes were sponsored by Stoltz of St. Marys, CNB Bank and Express Lube and the Bubble Bath. Lunch was provided by BiLo Market.
